Bast, also known as Bastet or Ubastis was said to be the daughter of Ra. Originally a sun goddess, she later changed to a moon goddess & was associated with cats, those who look after cats, joy, pleasure, children & all things feminine. She appears in either the form of a desert cat or as a woman with the head of a cat.
